With these simple goals we will KNOCKOUT PARKINSON'S We fight every day to make sure #PDdidnotwintoday!
Without a cure or a disease modifying treatment we need to keep pushing to new levels of fitness. Prior to my diagnosis I wasn’t in the best shape, our elliptical was used to dry clothes and our gym membership was exclusively used for open swimming and the sauna. Since 2014 I have progressively built strength and endurance while shedding over 60 lbs. I am currently balancing a combination of running, kickboxing and weight training. To be clear we are fighting a tough opponent but we remain optimistic that if we win today there may be a cure tomorrow!
We are relentless in our pursuit to end Parkinson’s We are partnering with two world class organizations:
The Michael J Fox Foundation takes a very aggressive approach to funding research and its optimism for a cure is inspiring. Team Fox is a great organization that has connected Kristi and I with families across the county that are pushing their limits to face this disease one day at a time.
The University of Minnesota has not only helped us get through my diagnosis but they have supported Kristi's career growth as well! The University is one of the top PD research facilities in the world and to partner with them is an honor! I just finished a study name ‘Steady PD3” with Dr. Tuite, I am ready to start another.
We will use Jason’s diagnosis to influence a better tomorrow for everyone affected by Parkinson’s
We are still learning as we go but we want to use our journey to help others get through the diagnosis and the what’s next phase. It’s critical to get moving, it's tough to work through it but your life will be worse if you sit around and feel sorry for yourself. Get moving and allow yourself to start moving forward.
